Make a Grager

Gragers are noise-makers used during the Purim celebration. To make a gragger, you need:

  • A lollypop stick or tongue depressor
  • A small box or a small milk carton
  • A few small rocks or Beads
  • Colorful feathers
  • Construction paper
  • Glitter
  • School glue
  • Magic markers or crayons

Decorate the box with funny masks or other Purim symbols made with the paper, feathers, glue, and markers or crayons. Glue the lollypop stick or tounge depressor to the side of the box to create a handle. Add the rocks or beads to the box and glue it shut. Let dry.

Shake the box to make noise and drown out the name of Haman during the reading of the Megillat Esther (Book of Esther).
