Scroll of Esther

At the Synagogue our main event is reading the Book of Esther. We read that in Persia 2,300 years ago, "Megillat-Ester" (as it is commonly called) recounts how a seemingly unrelated series of events spun together to save the Jewish people from annihilation. A short version is as follows: When King Achashverosh throws a huge six-month party and the queen refuses to follow orders, she is replaced by a new queen - Esther the Jewish niece of Mordechai. Esther's uncle Mordechai, the leader of the Jewish people, uncovers a plot to assassinate the king -- putting him in a favorable position with the king.

It just happened that Haman, the king's top advisor, obtains a decree to have all the Jewish people destroyed around the same time that Mordechai saved the kings life.

Mordechai tells his niece Queen Ester about Hammans dicree, She tells her husband the king that Hamman wants to kill her and her people. and that is how queen Ester saved the jewish people.
